Washington Legislature Should Enact the Medicaid Fraud False Claims Act (Senate Bill 5978)

Washington Governor Chris Gregoire has stated that the state of Washington is in serious financial trouble.  In a recent Message from the Governor:  I wish I could say that things have improved for the 2011–13 budget period. Unfortunately, they have worsened. It continues to get more expensive for the state to provide the same level of services. Demand for state services is at its greatest when the economy is at its worst. The fact is that it will cost us more than $2 billion more to provide…See More

Strategich Approach

Technology allowed us to reinvent the law firm structure in ways that help improve the return our clients receive on the their legal spend. We scrapped costly inefficiencies like expensive overhead, inexperienced attorneys that need training, and the pyramid billing approach to the delivery of legal services. We reject this model as outdated, and we pass the savings to our clients through highly competitive rates and flexible fee structures.

We don’t need an office in a downtown skyscraper, we make client house-calls.

Most big law firms hire recent law grads and assign them to work on and bill client projects. Not us. Our attorneys are experienced and seasoned in business and in the law. Every client and every project receives partner level attention and only partner level attention. We do, however, offer a unique New Attorney Mentoring Program for recent law graduates and new lawyers.

Most traditional law firms have teams of staff from receptionists, secretaries, clerks, paralegals, copy room operators, and law firm staff is often a revenue source with billable targets. Our support staff is hired on a temporary and often virtual basis, and we never mark up their charges. This allows us to expand and collapse as needed. This is one way we manage our overhead, and we pass this savings on to our clients.

We leverage technology, not the multi-layered billing approach to delivery of legal services. Our attorneys use technology like email, the Internet, e-filing, high-speed scanners with optical character recognition software, laptop computers with dual monitors, online legal research databases, online document collaboration tools, voice-dictation software to name a few. We are always looking for technologies that improve efficiencies because this helps us deliver value legal services that provide high return on our clients’ legal spend.

Mark just helped me complete a Standard Contract Agreement that not only protected my interests, but also made me look professional while at the same time outlined my services in a way that made it simple and easy to understand. Mark is a great asset for any business that needs a lawyer to create a professional contract and image. I highly recommend him.

It is inspiring to have Mark as a friend and colleague. What a rare combination to find an attorney that connects with entrepreneurs and shares valuable information through groups like this.
